In recent developments, Trump Media & Technology Group, the entity behind Truth Social, disclosed a significant financial loss of $238 million for the second quarter. This comes as the company re-aligns its strategic focus back to its social media roots after venturing into cryptocurrency and various other initiatives.

Despite the losses, the company reported a notable increase in revenue, generating $1.7 million during the quarter, more than twice the amount from the same period last year. Newly appointed CEO Kevin McGurn emphasized that the company intends to allocate its resources primarily toward strengthening its core social media platform. However, it will continue to pursue selected projects such as its anticipated merger with TAE Technologies, a nuclear fusion enterprise.

Additionally, Trump Media has introduced a new service called Truth API, which is a subscription-based offering. This service provides financial institutions with early access to posts from Donald Trump and other key users on Truth Social. The subscription fees range from $60,000 to $100,000 per month, and the service has already secured 10 clients, mainly high-frequency trading firms.

Financially, Trump Media remains robust, holding over $400 million in cash and short-term investments by the quarter’s end. The company also possesses around $1.2 billion in bitcoin and associated assets. However, it is important to note that the company carries approximately $1 billion in debt through convertible notes, which are set to mature in 2028.
